Historic Norwich Property and Former Chelsea Landing Pub Purchased at Tax Auction

The vacant building is the last surviving Colonial-era waterfront commercial building.

NORWICH, CT – Historic property and former Chelsea Landing Pub on Water Street was sold at a tax foreclosure auction Saturday, The Day reported.

The building sold for $15,000 to mortgage holder RCN Capital LLC, according to The Day. RCN had filed foreclosure for the unpaid $600,000 mortgage.

The vacant building is considered the oldest and last surviving Colonial-era waterfront commercial building, The Day reported. The building once sat at the edge of Norwich Harbor.
