(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. GRISWOLD, CT — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash with a pickup truck on Saturday, according to state police. The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in the area of 1089 Hopeville Road in Griswold. A black Suzuki motorcycle was traveling south on Hopeville Road. A Nissan Titan was at the top of a driveway waiting to turn left onto Hopeville Road.When the pickup began to turn, the motorcycle struck its left side. The motorcyclist, a Jewett City man, was "separated from the vehicle" and landed a short distance away, state police said. He was taken to William Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of serious injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash.Anyone with information on the accident can contact Troop Christopher Brett at 860-848-6540.
