(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT — A local man was killed Saturday morning in a one-vehicle accident on Taftville-Occum Road, according to police. Sgt. Richard Cannata said the accident happened around 8:37 a.m. in the vicinity of the River View Lane condominium complex. Police received multiple 911 calls reporting the accident. Bystanders who heard the crash rushed to the scene and began CPR on the male driver, who was the sole occupant. Emergency personnel arrived and rushed the victim to William W. Backus Hospital, but he was pronounced deceased around 9:27 a.m., police said. On Monday, police identified the operator of the vehicle as Paul Daley, 67, of 303 Mohegan Park Rd., Lot 46, Norwich. As of Monday morning, the cause and manner of death were still being determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police said. The accident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash, who has information, or relevant surveillance camera footage is asked to contact Officer Brandon Wisniewski at Bwisniewski@cityofnorwich.org or at 860-886-5561 ext. 3582.
