Norwich Free Academy Hosts Annual Spelling Bee

A total of 61 students initially tried out for the 36th annual Lillian S. Young Spelling Bee.

From NFA: The field of students is set for the 36th annual Lillian S. Young Spelling Bee, 6 p.m., Monday, November 19 in Slater Auditorium. This year’s judges are DeVol Joyner, Board of Trustees Vice Chairman; Joe Miragliuolo, retired Special Education teacher; and Sheri Tanner, Principal of Kelly Middle School. 61 students tried out for the competition by studying a master list of words and auditioning on October 31. The following students will compete in the finals for top honors and cash prizes:
