Norwich to Hold Vigil and “Stand United Against Hate” in Wake of Recent Violence

NORWICH, CT- A vigil will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the David Ruggles Freedom Courtyard, at Norwich City Hall.

The event is free and open to the public, according to the event page on Facebook. It is sponsored by the Norwich Area Clergy Association, the Norwich Branch NAACP, the Norwich Police Department, the Norwich Human Services Department, Sankofa Education and Leadership, Inc., Sikh Sewak Society, St. Vincent de Paul Place and the City of Norwich.

“It is with heavy hearts we are joining with the nation once again in recognizing the human race is all one as we mourn the lives our uniformed police officers and victims whose lives have been lost and injured,’ the page reads. “We also pray for the family and friends and fellow officers affected by the fatal shooting on July 7, 2016 in Dallas.”
