(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NEW LONDON, CT — A Norwich man has been charged in connection with a New London arson incident, according to police. Timothy Settles, 32, was charged with first-degree arson, first-degree reckless endangerment, and first-degree criminal mischief. He was held on $500,000 bond. Emergency services were called May 11 at 3:59 a.m. for a report of a fire at 10 Rosemary Street. Settles was arrested in connection with the investigation Monday evening. Anyone with information on this investigation can call the New London Police Detective Division at 860-447-1481 or anonymous information can be submitted via the New London Tips 411 system.
