Norwich Man Charged With Drug, Gun Crimes Following Raid: Police

A man is accused of dealing fentanyl among other charges, according to police.

NORWICH, CT — A man is facing charges following a raid of a Norwich home in which police found fentanyl and a gun, according to police.

Anthony VonWinkle, 45, of Norwich, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm, and violation of a protective order.

Local and state police executed a search warrant at a Taftville home Friday at 10:40 a.m. Police seized 15.4 grams of fentanyl, one illegally possession semi-automatic handgun, and a large sum of U.S. currency.

Police then took VonWinkle into custody. His bond was set at $200,000. He was scheduled for arraignment in Norwich Superior Court.
