Norwich Man Charged With Firing Gun Near Apartment Building: Reports

A shelter-in-place order was put into effect when a man allegedly fired a gun multiple times while drunk, according to reports.

NORWICH, CT — A Norwich man is facing charges that he fired a gun several times around his apartment building while drunk, according to WTNH News-8.

Police responded to a Stonington Road address at 7 p.m. Monday after receiving calls from residents regarding the shots.

Police arrived and heard six shots. A shelter-in-place order was sent to area residents.

Officers later came into contact with the intoxicated man, WFSB 3-TV reported.

Brian Burgess, 33, was taken into custody. No one was injured.

He was held on $150,000 bond and charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful discharge of weapons, first-degree reckless endangerment, and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
