(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT — A Norwich man is facing charges that he fired a gun several times around his apartment building while drunk, according to <a href="https://www.wtnh.com/news/norwich-man-accused-of-firing-gun-from-his-apartment-complex-while-intoxicated/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">WTNH News-8</a>. Police responded to a Stonington Road address at 7 p.m. Monday after receiving calls from residents regarding the shots. Police arrived and heard six shots. A shelter-in-place order was sent to area residents. Officers later came into contact with the intoxicated man, <a href="https://www.wfsb.com/2024/08/27/norwich-man-accused-shooting-gun-near-apartment-building/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">WFSB 3-TV</a> reported. Brian Burgess, 33, was taken into custody. No one was injured. He was held on $150,000 bond and charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful discharge of weapons, first-degree reckless endangerment, and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
