Norwich, Mohegan Officials Looking to Improve Uncas Leap Area
The city has worked with Mohegan officials to develop a plan for the area, utilizing a portion of a grant.

NORWICH, CT -- City officials described plans Tuesday to enhance the Uncas Leap area into a heritage park, on which they have been working with Mohegan officials, The Day reported.
The city is planning to use part of a $270,000 historic brownfields assessment grant to do a remedial action plan, The Day reported. It is hoped that this plan will determine the cost of environmental cleanup of the Uncas Leap area.
The site could also be a candidate for use of a recently received citywide federal brownfields assessment grant, The Day reported. After all the necessary first steps are taken, a master plan with extensive public input will be developed for the heritage park.
