Norwich Police Charge Maryland Man With Enticing Minor
The accused engaged in "sexually explicit" online communications with a juvenile, according to police.
NORWICH, CT — A Maryland man is accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversations online with a minor.
Local police on Thursday charged Anthony Guevara, 31, of Olney, Maryland, with enticing a minor by computer, misrepresentation of age to entice a minor, risk of injury to a minor, and harmful communication with a minor.
Sgt. Kenneth Wright, a spokesperson for the Norwich Police Department, said the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland took Guevara into custody in late January for the local extraditable arrest warrant.

According to Wright, the warrant was the result of an investigation by Norwich detectives into sexually explicit online communications between Guevara and a juvenile victim.
Norwich police traveled to Maryland to take custody of Guevara and bring him to Connecticut to face the charges on Thursday.

Guevara had an initial court appearance on Friday in Superior Court in Norwich, and his case was continued to March 17.
