Norwich Public Utilities Receives Approval for Mohegan Park Water Tank

It will replace the existing old tank currently on the same property.

NORWICH, CT- Norwich Public Utilities received approval Tuesday for a plan to build a new 2.5 million gallon water tank, The Day reported.

The plan called for the new ground tank to be built on Park Road in Mohegan Park, where it will be half the size and 35 feet taller than the existing tank on the same property, according to The Day. The plan was approved after a brief public hearing by the Commission on the City Plan.

The tank will cost $2.5 million and is expected to be built in the fall or spring, according to The Day. Water will be used from the old tank until close to empty before it is demolished and the new tank is built in its place.
