Norwich Teen Killed In I-395 Crash, ID Released: State Police
A teen is dead following an accident in Waterford on Thursday evening.
WATERFORD, CT — A teen is dead following an accident on I-395 in Waterford, according to state police.
Leilani Robinson, 18, of Norwich, was driving a Lexus on the northbound side of the highway when the crash occurred.
Robinson was driving on the Montville connector ramp to I-395 at 5:24 p.m. when her car went off the left shoulder and into the grass median.

The Lexus then reentered the road and crossed to the right shoulder before leaving the road again and striking a tree.
Robinson was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene of the accident, state police said.

Robinson was a recent graduate of the New London school system.
Superintendent Cynthia Ritchie released the following statement:
"We are so saddened to share the incredibly sad news of the tragic passing of a recently graduated student, Leilani Robinson (class of 2025) in a car accident yesterday.
"Leilani was an incredible student and human being, with several talents and gifts. She made a very positive impact on NLPS over the many years she was a part of our school community. Her impact will continue to be felt deeply, especially as she had strong relationships and experiences with many adults and fellow students alike. The news of her passing is truly devastating.
"Thank you for keeping Leilani, the family, extended family, and the entire school community in your thoughts during this difficult time."
