A granddaughter is accused of stealing a large sum of money from her grandmother.

NEW LONDON, CT- A Norwich woman was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison due to charges of stealing thousands of dollars from her grandmother, 77, the Norwich Bulletin reported.
Police said Tasha Gaudreau stole more than $22,000 using an ATM card to make unauthorized withdrawals from linked bank accounts, the Norwich Bulletin reported. They also said that Gaudreau reportedly spent the money almost entirely on drugs.
The withdrawals had been made between July and October of 2015, according to the Norwich Bulletin. She will serve the sentence alongside the two-and-a-half-year sentence she was given in Rockville Superior Court for stealing in May.
