(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT — The driver who died after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday has been identified as a local woman. Police on Friday said the victim was Maria Cardoza, 66, of 150 Yantic St. Lt. Steve Schmidt said police received a 911 call around 8:17 a.m. Thursday reporting a serious motor vehicle collision near 704 West Thames St. First responders arrived and discovered a vehicle had been involved in a head-on collision with a heavy-duty wrecker, according to police. Cardoza, who was in the vehicle, was taken to Backus Hospital, but she died, police said. The operator of the wrecker was not injured, according to police. The accident is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed it or who has information is asked to contact the Norwich Police Department at 860-886-5561 ext. 6.
