Police: Suspects Stole Car, Tools & $20,000 In Dirt Bikes

Lebanon's resident state trooper took to Facebook to post photos of two alleged car and dirt bike thieves police say struck last night.

LEBANON, CT — State and local police are looking for two people, suspects in a string of vehicle thefts in Lebanon Sunday night.

According to the resident state trooper, four dirt bikes worth $20,000 were stolen from one location on the southwest side of town. A 2018 Hyundai Elantra was also stolen from an nearby location. And, police say, two other dirt bikes as well as power tools from taken from a residence near the Willimantic town line.

But police also seized the opportunity to warn residents to "please lock your things up."

"DO NOT leave your keys in your car. Make a list of valuable items and document their VIN or serial numbers," police said.


And police offered other advice for residents to protect themselves from thieves:

"Also, if you are using Facebook Marketplace to sell your items please disable the map feature. Criminals can determine your location fairly well by using the map feature on your post as well as by using the pictures you use to sell the item. Many times the pictures show your house in the background and it makes it very easy to determine where your for sale item is located," police wrote.
