Several commercial businesses were impacted Wednesday morning.

NORWICH, CT — Power has been restored in the West Main Street area of Norwich, following an outage Wednesday morning that impacted more than a dozen commercial businesses, according to Norwich Public Utilities.

Businesses in the Marcus/Shop Rite Plaza were among those without power, but it was restored after a few hours.

"This outage will require the removal and replacement of a transformer which could take several hours to complete," wrote the power company on its Facebook page. "Additional crews will be deployed to assist with this work shortly."
