Rash Of Apartment Condemnations Hits Norwich: Report
Dozens of people have been displaced in recent weeks.

NORWICH, CT — Dozens of people have had to move out of their apartments in Norwich in recent weeks as a wave of condemnations have hit the city, writes The Day.
The displacements have strained the city's housing, health and other departments, as officials scramble to find housing for those tenants.
Several units in more than a half-dozen buildings have been condemned in recent weeks for a variety of reasons, such as lacking certain utilities, structural problems and other unsafe conditions.

As a result, some Norwich officials are calling for a reinstatement of a rental unit inspection program that was discontinued more than a dozen years ago for budget reasons.
