'Real-Life Indiana Jones' To Speak At Norwich Free Academy

Brenton Easter is a Norwich Free Academy alumnus.

From Norwich Free Academy: Brenton Easter, an NFA alum who has been dubbed a “Real-Life Indiana Jones,” is returning to campus 1:20 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, to speak to 10th-grade Honors students about “Finding Your Spark.” The presentation is based on the focus of the honors program - encouraging students to think about their passions and consider how they could lead to college choices and career opportunities.

As a student at NFA, Easter was captain of the swim team, a pianist, and a history buff. He is a great example of someone who found his spark at NFA and used it to create his dream job. Now he will return to speak to current students as special agent Brenton M. Easter, with the Homeland Security Department’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. He works in the Cultural Property Division, and his specialty is investigating international art and antiquity theft.

Easter is the the subject of a 2015 FiveThirtyEight and ESPN Films documentary directed by award-winning filmmaker Jason Kohn about the largest bust of stolen and smuggled antiquities in US history titled ‘Hidden Idols.” He has also been profiled by CNN, PBS, and National Geographic.
