Red Cross Helping 2 After Fire In Norwich

The American Red Cross is helping one family of two adults after a recent fire in Norwich.

NORWICH, CT – The American Red Cross is helping one family of two adults after a fire Tuesday on West Thames Street. The organization provided assistance to meet the family's immediate needs, according to a release.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire. (To sign up for Norwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

In addition, a recovery envelope was provided containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire. These include tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, dealing with damaged items and more.
