Shots Fired At Norwich Police Officer; Person In Custody

A person is in custody after shots fired at Norwich police struck a cruiser Tuesday night.

NORWICH, CT — A person was taken into custody after shots were fired at police Tuesday night, according to WTNH. Police received a shots fired report near Westwood Park at 9:55 p.m.

Police who responded and found a person with a rifle who fired at officers, striking a cruiser with several rounds. The person fled the scene, then was found a short distance away and taken into custody, according to WTNH.
