Sketch Released Of Body Found In Shetucket River, ID Released Saturday: UPDATE

A man's body was found in the river on July 22. Police have released sketches and more identifying details.

UPDATE: The man has been identified as Jay T. Oat, 54, of Norwich, NBC Connecticut reports Saturday. No foul play is expected.

NORWICH, CT — Police continue to seek the identity of a man who was found dead in the Shetucket River on July 22.

The subject is a white male who is about 6-feet-tall and weighed about 200 pounds. He is between 45 and 60-years-old and had medium length brown hair and a brown/grey beard. He was wearing tan shorts with a size 34 waist and an olive colored plaid short sleeve button down shirt that was XL size.

Norwich Police, State of Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are working together on the case.
