State Police Major Crimes Searching For Wanted Man

​State police are searching for Fernando Irizzary, 42, who, while awaiting trial, cut off an ankle bracelet and fled the state.

MONTVILLE, CT—State police major crimes investigators are searching for 42-year-old Fernando Irizzary. While monitored and awaiting trial, police say he cut off an ankle monitor and fled Connecticut. Authorities believe he may be in New York, but say he has "connections" in Willimantic and Norwich. His Facebook page has him listed as living in Willimantic, though he's originally form New Jersey.

According to a media release, the Major Crime Squad at Troop E in Montville is trying to find Irizzary for not showing up in court, with a first-degree failure to appear warrant that allows extradition.

Irizzary was charged on Dec. 25, 2018 with inciting injury to a person, three counts of second-degree harassment and one count of second-degree breach of peace. State police said Irizzary posted a 36-minute Facebook Live video where he threatened state child protective services investigators and a judge.

In a post, which he captioned 'Is It Ethical For a Parent To Kill a CPS Worker,' he shared a photo of a gun. In the Live video, Irizzary said he craved blood and named names of people who he wanted to hurt. He was arrested, charged and posted $100,000 bond.

Now, police are searching for him after a re-arrest warrant was issued with a $250,000 cash bond.

Police said he "cut off his ankle bracelet while traveling in New York," driving a 2006 gray Hyundai with Connecticut plate number AU05575.

Irizzary is known to have connections in Willimantic, Norwich and New Jersey.
