Suspensions Issued - Then Lifted - To Protesting Norwich Students

Other schools in Connecticut allowed students to walk out side during Wednesday's protest.

NORWICH, CT — Norwich Tech High School suspended several students Wednesday after they walked out of school as part of the nationwide protest against gun violence, but rescinded those suspensions on Thursday after student outcry, reports The Day.

The exact number of students who were initially suspended was not immediately available, but reportedly they were warned that they could face suspension if they walked out of school. Other area schools allowed students to walk out side during the protest.

Social media criticism of the school suspensions exploded by Wednesday afternoon, which contributed to the reversal.
