The candidates faced off Wednesday night at Norwich Free Academy.

NORWICH, CT — The city's tax burden was one of the main discussion points Wednesday night during a Norwich mayoral candidate debate at Norwich Free Academy, moderated by the Norwich Bulletin.

Alphabetically, five candidates are vying for the city's top elected office next month, Republican Peter Nystrom, petitioning candidate Jon Oldfield, petitioning candidate Joseph Radecki, Libertarian Bill Russell, and Democrat Derell Wilson.

All five focused on eliminating government waste and finding places in the administration and operating budget to cut to help ease the tax burden.
