Three-Alarm Fire Fought Sunday Afternoon

A Sunday fire on Otrobando Avenue in Yantic is under investigation.​

NORWICH, CT — A Sunday fire in Yantic is under investigation.

Around 12:30 p.m., the first reports came in about a building fire on Otrobando Avenue first reported as number 84 then corrected to number 88.

The three-alarm blaze was fought by Yantic, Norwich, East Great Plains, and Taftville fire companies since and at 2:30, was reported to still be an active scene.

Though not as of yet confirmed by any fire officials, it's reported that a firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital via ambulance. WTNH reported that the fire may have begun in a kitchen inside the three-story house. It's reported families were displaced. A number of pets were also reported to have died in the fire.
