Three Rivers Community College To Host Third Annual CT-ECO Statewide Convening
Three Rivers Community College will host the Third Annual Connecticut Early College Opportunity (CT-ECO) Convening next week.

NORWICH, CT — Three Rivers Community College is hosting the Third Annual Connecticut Early College Opportunity (CT-ECO) Convening on Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will take place on the school's Norwich campus.
Representatives from four Connecticut Community Colleges, school districts and industry partners will convene to discuss CT-ECO programming in Connecticut, according to a release, (To sign up for Norwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Sponsored by Electric Boat, the convening will feature keynote speaker Rashid Davis, founding principal of P-TECH (the model for CT-ECO) in Brooklyn, New York, and a panel of CT-ECO students.

Working sessions at the convening will provide industry partners, high school districts and community colleges the opportunity to share insights and best practices.
The CT-ECO program offers students an integrative high school and college experience and prepares them for high potential jobs in STEM fields. It is a collaboration between community colleges, school districts and local industry partners that began in 2014.

Through the program, students have the opportunity to earn an associate degree at no cost to them while still enrolled in high school.
Based on the P-TECH school model created by IBM in 2011, four Connecticut Community Colleges have implemented CT-ECO programming:
- Norwalk Community College
- Naugatuck Valley Community College
- Three Rivers Community College
- Quinebaug Valley Community College
These community colleges currently participate in the program alongside:
- Norwalk Public Schools
- Danbury Public Schools
- Windham Public Schools
- the New London STEM Academy
