Three Rivers To Examine If Hatred, Violence Is The New Norm in American Society
Discuss hatred and violence in America and more at a two-part forum being held this month at Three Rivers Community College.

NORWICH, CT - Discuss hatred and violence in America and more at a two-part forum entitled "Is Hatred and Violence the New Norm in American Society?" being held at Three Rivers Community College this month. Both events are free and open to the public, according to a release.
The forum will be held Tuesday, September 26, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room and Wednesday, September 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in room B-127. Each will address different aspects of the topic and can be attended independently or together. Both forums will address the issues of hate and violence in America today, including protests at Charlottesville, anti-Semitism and the threats against the LGBTQ and immigrant communities.

Tuesday's discussion will center on understanding the cultural symbolism of Charlottesville, Virginia. Panelists will include Department Chair of Mathematics and Science and Associate Professor Roxanne Tisch and Three Rivers students Megan Ory and Bridney Casillas.
Student Diversity and Title IX Coordinator Edward A. Derr will moderate the forum.

The conversation continues Wednesday, focusing on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Immigration and the American Dream. Derr will again moderate with panelists including Professor of Economics and Political Science Philip Mayer Jr. and Three Rivers students Megan Ory and Bridney Casillas.
