(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT – Three Rivers Community College is proud to present the annual Student Art Show featuring the work of students. The exhibition opens Thursday, May 5, in The Gallery at Three Rivers. The event will run through to Wednesday, May 19, according to a release. (<a href="https://patch.com/connecticut/norwich/subscribe">To sign up for Norwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.</a>) The college-wide Student Art Show features work by students who have taken an art class at Three Rivers this academic year. Students can submit one assignment from each art class, and all submitted work is displayed. The works are judged by Carol Dunn, an elected artist from the Norwich Arts Center. Cash prizes will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m. during the opening reception, which will be held May 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The Gallery at Three Rivers is located on the second floor above the main entrance.
