After coming into extra money, the decision was made by the board to reinstate transportation to four schools.

PRESTON, CT – Transportation funding was reinstated for students attending four magnet and charter schools by the Board of Education, The Day reported.
The board held a special meeting Tuesday to discuss use of last minute expected savings in the special education budget, according to The Day. The four schools include the Science and Technology Magnet High School of Southeastern Connecticut in New London, the Marine Science Magnet High School of Southeastern Connecticut in Groton, the Integrated Day Charter School in Norwich and Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London.
The cost removed from the budget totaled $84,841, according to The Day. The savings resulted from five students transitioning out of the program.
