Woman Killed In Fiery Route 85 Crash: State Police
A woman is dead after her car struck a tree and caught on fire Tuesday evening in Colchester.

COLCHESTER, CT — A woman was killed in a single-car accident on Route 85 in Colchester on Tuesday evening, according to police.
Alycia Ziegler, 39, of Andover, was traveling northbound on Route 85 at 5:36 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, her 2020 Subaru Ascent crossed into the southbound lane and struck a tree.
The car then caught fire.

Ziegler was the only one in the car and was pulled out of the vehicle by bystanders. Emergency personnel then started CPR.
However, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and Ziegler was pronounced dead, according to state police.
