Ysordia, Caisse, Avery: Recent Death Notices From Norwich

NORWICH, CT — Recent death notices from Norwich.

Thomas Anthony Slaga died Sept. 1, 2026. He graduated from Norwich Technical School and attended Mohegan Community College before retiring from Millstone Nuclear Power Station. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and two children.

Tina Ysordia died Aug. 22, 2026. She worked for 28 years at the Connecticut Department of Labor, retiring in 2003, and traveled to countries on five continents. She is survived by a brother.

John Alexander Majewski Sr., 94, died Aug. 16, 2026. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Douglas John Caisse Sr., 68, died Aug. 12, 2026. He worked at US Foods from 1981 until his retirement in 2023. He is survived by his wife, Jean, five children and four grandchildren.

John F. Avery, 85, died July 2, 2026. He served in the U.S. Air Force before working as grounds supervisor at Norwich Hospital for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary, three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
