• Connecticut River train bridge replacement project is on track and on budget (theday.com) — A massive, years-long project is replacing the 119-year-old train bridge between Old Saybrook and Old Lyme, and it's currently on schedule and on budget. The new span will boost train speeds, reduce bridge openings for boaters, and improve reliability on this busy stretch of the Northeast Corridor. Construction continues through 2031, with the bridge expected to be operational by 2030.
