Amity Middle School Students Honored For Their Efforts
Jayne Whitman, an eighth grade student, was the winner of the essay contest.

From Amity MS: Three students from Amity Middle School in Orange were recognized at the Michael’s Cup Unified Sports Banquet. The banquet honored middle and high school students for submitting moving essays detailing how their experiences with Unified Sports® helped them to change attitudes and change lives.
Jayne Whitman, an eighth grade student, was the winner of the essay contest. Anna Warholak, also in eighth grade, was runner-up. Eighth grade student, Brian McMilleon, was also recognized for his participation in the Unified Sports program.
In her essay Jayne Whitman wrote that her involvement in Unified Sports has taught her how to be a better person while helping someone else. “Being together as a team is the key aspect to success. When the team is together no one can tear them apart. As a team we are caring, smart, and unified” Anna Varholak ‘s essay highlighted the wonderful friendships she has made with the team members. “We greet one another with big smiles when we see one another in the halls. Together we have learned skills and sportsmanship too. Just like in any other sport being part of the Unified Sports team makes everyone feel that they belong. We all are united and we are all playing for the same.”
