Amity Region 5 Public Schools Calendar 2016-17

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 school year in the Amity Regional School System.

First day of school: August 29

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5

Sept. 23 (delayed opening)

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10

Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 12

Nov. 8 (no school for students)

November 23 (early dismissal)

Thanksgiving (school closed): 24, 25

Dec. 23 (early dismissal)

Winter break: Dec-26 to Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)

Jan. 13 (early dismissal)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16

Feb. 17 (early dismissal)

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 20. 21

March 17 (no school students)

Spring Break: April 10-14, which includes Good Friday

May 15 (delayed opening)

Memorial Day (school closed): May 29

Last day of school: June 8

If emergency closings extend beyond June 30, 2017, then any additional days will be taken from Spring Recess, beginning with April 10, 2017. Amity Regional High School Graduation is traditionally held on the actual last day of school for students. Total Days For Students = 181; Total Days For Teachers = 185
