ORANGE, CT — It was a busy Thursday for the Orange Volunteer Fire Department, including a call where a homeowner accidentally drove a vehicle through a wall in their home, officials said.
At 7:15 a.m., members responded alongside the Orange Police Department and AMR to a two-car motor vehicle accident on the Boston Post Road, east of Bull Hill Lane that required extrication.
Later, at 2:20 p.m., crews responded to a residence on Oakwood Road after a homeowner accidentally drove a vehicle through the rear wall of the home, fire officials said.
Due to structural concerns, the home was deemed unstable, officials said. (You can view photos here).
The Orange Volunteer Fire Department requested assistance from the Derby Volunteer Fire Department Special Operations Unit, whose members responded to shore up the structure and make it safe for occupancy over the holiday weekend.
