Orange Cop Arrested At Baseball Game, Internal Affairs Probe Launched

The Orange police officer faces disorderly conduct and other charges following an incident at a Hartford Yard Goats game.

An Orange police sergeant was arrested over the weekend in Hartford after police say he became disorderly and confrontational with local police at a sporting event.

Sgt. Frank Koshes was charged on July 11 with disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer/resisting, and first-degree criminal trespass, according to state Judicial Branch records.

All three charges are misdemeanors, and Koshes was released on a promise to appear in court in Hartford on July 15.

Hartford police did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the circumstances surrounding Koshes’ arrest.

WFSB reported Koshes got into a confrontation with Hartford police at a Hartford Yard Goats game after he and a companion were asked to leave.

Orange Chief of Police Robert Gagne said Koshes reported his arrest in Hartford to the department.

“The Orange Police Department takes these matters seriously and will be conducting an internal investigation into this incident,” Gagne said, in an emailed statement Tuesday.

According to Gagne, Koshes has no disciplinary history in the nine years he has been with the department.

Gagne declined to comment further, as he said it is a personnel matter.
