Marathon Sports, located at 464 Boston Post Road, Orange, recently held its official ribbon-cutting, followed by an open house. Orange Store Manager Dan Perusina (holding scissors) was joined by Amity Chamber of Commerce CEO Barry Lee Cohen, Orange Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Annemarie Sliby, and Marathon Sports staff and customers.
Cohen said, "Dan and his team have hit the ground running. From running gear, apparel, and shoes to the exceptional customer service, group runs, races, and upcoming events, Marathon Sports offers a unique blend of products and services that will engage and excite sports aficionados, professional athletes, and beginners alike."
Founded in 1975 in a renovated first-floor apartment near Harvard Square, Marathon Sports has grown to 32 retail locations across New England. When former owner and president Colin Peddie took over the reins of the one-store operation in 1992, the pioneering concept of biomechanical analysis during the shoe selection experience was introduced, which is now trademarked as "The Right FitĀ® Process." The process includes consultation, visual gait analysis, and curated collections that match gear to an individual's actual movement and training regimen.
