Gilbertie continued her softball career at the University of Maryland, where she received a full athletic scholarship, served as team captain and became one of the program's all-time offensive leaders, according to Lauralton Hall.

She also received an NCAA Postgraduate Award.

Since completing her playing career, Gilbertie has been involved in coaching, community service and supporting Lauralton Hall, the school said.

Established in 2012, Lauralton Hall's Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes former athletes and others who have achieved athletic distinction or contributed to the school's athletic programs.
