Obituary Josephine Davis

Mrs. Josephine Davis, of Woodbridge, age 82, beloved wife of 59 years to Kenneth Davis, passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Saturday, February 4, 2012 surrounded by her family.

Daughter of the late Mary Tomcik and Salvatore Bova, she was born on November 30, 1929 in New Haven, CT. She was predeceased by her sister Rose Barrett of Florida.

Josephine loved to play cards with her cousins, keeping up on Pop Culture, watching the Yankees, and most importantly loved her grandchildren and family gatherings.

Nana spent 50 years coordinating family gatherings every Sunday and loved cooking for all. Her departure will not end our Sunday gatherings, but has encouraged us to treasure those to come.

She had many good friends and family that had departed before her that she cared for and missed.

She is survived by her five children, Charles Valente (Gina) of East Haven, Salvatore Valente of Bristol, Kenneth (Carol) of Maine, Lynn Plaskowitz (George) of Orange, and Kim DiGiovanna (Michael) of North Haven.

She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, Jonathan (Nicole), Robyn, Mackenzie, Reed, Jamie, Anna, Stacy, Lisa, Robby, Laura, Jason, Brett, Zachary, Juliana, Alyssa, and great granddaughter Jonna. In addition she leaves behind many loving cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 8th at 10am at St. Anthony's Church 70 Washington Ave, New Haven, CT. Graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for their tireless efforts and compassionate care.
