Obituary Michael Louis Cholakian

Michael Louis Cholakian, age 49, of Orange, died suddenly on January 17, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

He was born January 1, 1963 in Norwalk, CT.

He was the beloved husband of Beth Cholakian, and son of Edward and Virginia Cholakian of Milford. 

He leaves behind a loving stepson, Richard Angal, and siblings Edward Cholakian (Isabelle), Aleta Fern (Robert), Jeffrey Cholakian (Sheyun), Gary Cholakian (Taryn), and John Cholakian, as well as adoring nieces and nephews, Sara Forsberg (Tim), Rebecca Napoletano (Michael), Amanda Fern, Robert Fern, Emily Cholakian, Neo Cholakian, Geo Cholakian and Nan,and grand nephew Holden Napoletano.

He was employed as an Electrical Engineer at Hubbell Premise Wiring in Shelton. He was a perpetual student, obtaining his BS in Electrical Engineering, as well as his Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Fairfield University. He was pursuing an MBA at Quinnipiac University.

Michael was a lifelong practitioner of the martial arts and held a 5th Degree Master's Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do and a Black Belt in Hapkido. He enjoyed teaching others his love of the sport, particularly children.

He had a sharp wit and was a noted jokester and storyteller. He was a talented musician, movie buff, had a fascination with technology and computers, and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially boating and scuba diving.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 680 Racebrook Road, Orange. Calling hours at the church are from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The memorial service begins at 6:30 p.m.
