Orange Businesswoman Receives Honor from Connecticut Business Magazine
Orange, CT. Local businesswoman Traci O’Brien was recently recognized as a brilliant, innovative leader by The Commercial Record, Connecticut’s Business Magazine, and chosen to receive a coveted Women of F.I.R.E. Award. Twelve key female players in the local FIRE (Finance, Insurance, Real Estate) sector were chosen, all of whom have shown substantial success in their field, demonstrated a commitment to professional and personal growth, and whose work has enriched or advanced their field of endeavor.
Ms. O’Brien is an insurance broker and former sales representative at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. According to Traci “although you have to be pretty thick skinned to work in the insurance industry, I love talking to people as well as helping them and their families.” Traci was the 2012 Chairperson of the Milford Chamber Health & Wellness Council, organizing the ‘Step by Step to a Healthier Milford,’ its annual six-week walking program. She also spearheaded the ‘Not Your Mom’s Networking Event’ bringing together professional women and raising $1,000 in cash and products for Empowering Through Beauty, a charity which focuses on empowering women. Traci was also instrumental in raising scholarship monies to help other women continue their education through her volunteer activities as a member of the Network of Executive Women.
