Another Amity School Receives Recognition From Gov. Lamont
This time it was Amity Middle School in Bethany. Amity Middle School in Orange also received recognition.

From Amity Regional School District No. 5: BETHANY, CT — Amity Middle School in Bethany was recognized as one of the top middle schools in Connecticut in the “Governor’s 2019 Summer Reading Challenge.” Two of the school’s avid readers, Virginia Luciano and Sebastian Kohncke, represented Amity Middle School in Bethany along with Dr. Marie McPadden, Amity’s Director of Curriculum and Staff Development, at the award ceremony on November 21, 2019 at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford. Governor Ned Lamont and Dr. Miguel A. Cardona, Commissioner of Education, presented the award.
Students at Amity Middle School in Bethany read 1,622 books, and 100 percent of the student body participated in the challenge! It was an honor for Amity Middle School in Bethany to be recognized for outstanding reading once again!
