Autism Awareness Seminar at Amity Tonight
Orange Volunteer Fire Department hosts Autism Seminar for first responders, others.

The is hosting a free autism awareness seminar at , tonight, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.
This presentation will discuss the unique factors associated with emergency responses involving persons on the Autism spectrum.
The seminar is open to all first responders, including all , EMS, and personnel. Teachers, school social workers and families living with Autism also are invited to attend.

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the United States, affecting more than 1.5 million people, 85% of them under the age of 18.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports autism is growing at a rate of 10-17% per year. The Autism Society of America estimates there will be as many as 4 million people in the United States on the Autism spectrum by the end of this decade.
