Bridge Project To Lead To Road Closures In Orange

DERBY-MILFORD ROAD CLOSURE BEGINS THE WEEK OF MONDAY, JULY 23, 2018

DERBY-MILFORD ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Construction of the replacement of the Derby-Milford Road Bridge over the Wepawaug River has begun. Derby-Milford Road will be closed to traffic between Grassy Hill Road (Rt. 121) and West River Street beginning the week of July 23. The road is currently expected to reopen to traffic before winter. The start of the bridge project was delayed due to a freeze on state transportation spending, which included funding for this project.

A detour route will be posted using Prudden Lane and North Greenbrier Drive. Alternate routes are also available using Turkey Hill Road or Wheelers Farms Road north of the bridge and Flax Mill Lane and West River Street to the south.
