The Town of Orange Tax Office plans to have the July1 Tax Bills mailed on or about 12 June 2026. If you do not receive your Tax Bills by 1 July 2026 Please call the Tax Office 203-891-4736 and leave a message with your name and phone number. We will get back to you as soon as possible. By State law it is the taxpayer's responsibility to contact the Tax Office and ask about your tax liabilities if you have not received your bills. Problems with the USPS and people rifling mailboxes can happen! Basically, if you owned motor vehicles, real estate, or have a business, you have already accrued a tax liability from 1 October 2025. The tax year runs from 1 October to 30 September. Your July 1 bills cover 9 months in arrears and three months forward.&nbsp; Personal Property Taxes are not prorated after assessment, so if you have closed a business after 30 September 2025, you still owe the full tax payment. If you bought, traded or sold a motor vehicle you should pay any amount billed and contact the Assessor's office for any refund that may be due. Paperwork is required by the Assessor's Office for this process. The Assessor's number is 203-891-4724.

Nothing says spring better than our popular Classic Design Luncheon and Lecture! We’re honored to feature Genevieve Wheeler-Brown, the author of&nbsp;<a href="https://beyondblueandwhite.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">“Beyond Blue and White.”</a>
Wheeler-Brown’s book explores the history of Delftware ceramics, focusing on the often-overlooked roles of women as makers, patrons, and collectors, from 17th-century factory owners like&nbsp;Barbara Rotteveel&nbsp;to Gilded Age collectors like&nbsp;Mrs. J. Pierpont Morgan. A must for devotees of decorative arts and the history of material culture. 
Location: The award-winning Jay Estate Gardens designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz. Co-Chairs, Tracy Edwards, Liz Garrett, Emmy Lambert, Lindsay Bello Martin and Suzanne Clary.
Guests will enjoy botanical cocktails and a tour of the blue and white blooms of our gardens at 11:30am followed by lunch and lecture at 12 Noon. Booksigning at 1:30pm. Catering provided by Scarborough Fair Catering.

GENEVIEVE WHEELER BROWN
Founding Genevieve Wheeler Decorative Art Advisory in 2003, Genevieve comes to the advisory business with more than 12 years of experience in the auction world, strong generalist knowledge and a wide range of contacts in American, European and Asian decorative and fine arts.
Genevieve began her career with Christie’s in 1992 with the European Decorative Arts Department after working as an intern at The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C. in 1990. She was then asked to run Overseas Consignments at Christie’s Park Avenue, a department that handled inquiries for European based auctions including Indian and Southeast Asian art, Islamic Art, Miniatures, Textiles and Cameras. In 1995 Genevieve became the New York contact for sales of Fabergé and Russian Silver at Christie’s Park Avenue and most recently was as a specialist in Fine Musical Instruments at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from 1998 to 2003.
While at Christie’s, she was involved with important sales such as ‘The Pine Cone Egg’ by Carl Fabergé and ‘The Taft’ Stradivari which fetched the auction record for an instrument sold in the United States. She has also been an appraiser on the PBS production ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.
A supporter of several fine and decorative art related institutions, Genevieve has served on the Board of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, served as a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection from 1995 to 2005 and co-Chaired the Winter Antiques Show Young Collector’s Night, New York in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Genevieve currently advises several organizations including <a href="https://www.dumbartonhouse.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dumbarton House</a>, a Federal period house museum in Georgetown, as a board member as well as for <a href="https://www.thewintershow.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Winter Show</a> as a vice-chair of Opening Night and as co-founder of The Winter Show Luncheon.About The Jay Heritage Center

Per CGS 12-145, the first installment of the town tax on the 2025 Grand List of 1 October 2025 is due and payable on 1 July 2026. Payments received after 3 August 2026 are considered delinquent and are subject to the rate of 18% per annum, 1.5% per month, $2.00 minimum, dating back to the original due date [CGS 12-146].
Motor Vehicle bills are payable in one installment. Real Estate and Personal Property taxes are payable in two installments with ½ due on 1 July 2026 and the second installment due on 1 Jan 2027. All taxes may be paid in one installment. Bills will be mailed on or about 12 June 2026. We DO NOT rebill for second installments. Your split tax bill has a January tax bill attached. As owners of property, taxpayers are responsible to see that taxes are paid when due. FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM PAYMENT OF ALL INTEREST CHARGES AND COLLECTION COSTS, per Connecticut General Statutes 12-130, 12-148. Payments may be processed in person at the Town Tax Window in Town Hall, 617 Orange Center Rd, Orange, CT, Monday-Friday except holidays from 8:30 a.m. -12 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your entire three-part tax bill if you wish a receipt. A payment coupon or duplicate bill must accompany each payment. There is a $0.50 per page copy fee charged for each duplicate bill requested within the grace period, $5.00 thereafter. Payments by check or money order may be made by mail or at the tax window. The payment receipt date posted is the USPS cancellation date on the envelope. Only USPS cancellation dates or IRS approved Private Carrier Delivery Services dates are considered valid. All other payments will be posted with our bill received date. If a receipt is desired a self-addressed stamped envelope and your three-part bill must be included with your payment. We do not accept CASH payments through the mail, only at the tax window! Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express branded Credit and Debit Card payments are accepted on-line or at the tax window or by telephone (Interactive Voice Response) 203-902-0387 or E-check (On-line only). Convenience fees apply.
