Celebrating The Week of the Young Child

Duck Pond Day Care celebrated The week of the Young Child, April 18-22, with a variety of activities.

The daycare ran an all-week diaper drive to support the Greater New Haven Diaper Bank.

On Tuesday the children were treated to a breakfast with their parents and then they presented an art show for the parents. Not only did parents have a healthy breakfast of yogurt, fruit, bagels and crossiants,they were given a balloon to take to work with them that said I had breakfast with my child at Duck Pond.

On Thursday the daycare had a bake sale with all the proceeds going to the diaper bank. The center raised $170.00 and collected more than 1,000 diapers.

The week culminated with a pizza party and the release of the school-raised butterflies. The children were excited to watch them grow from eggs to beautiful painted lady butterflies.
