Columbus House is Helping Hands Community Thrift Store's Featured Member for February!

Helping Hands Community Thrift Store & Furniture Bank is working with many wonderful non-profit organizations that are making a difference for our community.

Each year Columbus House provides close to 3,000 individuals, families with children, Veterans, and senior citizens with shelter, housing, support services and employment readiness. The agency’s goal is to help those experiencing homelessness move towards independence and a permanent home in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London Counties.

Columbus House relies on government grants as well as contributions from the private sector including businesses, foundations, individuals and fundraising programs like Helping Hands.

Please donate your gently used furniture, clothing, housewares and other gently used items to benefit Columbus House. You can simply complete the attached Donation Acknowledgement form and bring it to the Thrift Store (334 Boston Post road in Orange) along with your donations. Columbus House will thank you for your donation. We will pick up your larger furniture and appliance donations. Just call 203-782-4800 to arrange for a pick up.
