Connex Credit Union Collecting Donations for Columbus House until Dec. 16
Connex Credit Union has teamed with Columbus House to collect donations for the homeless moving into new homes.
NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (Dec. 8, 2015) – In the spirit of the holidays and giving, Connex Credit Union has partnered with Columbus House for its “Home for the Holidays” collection drive, a campaign that will help shelter families move into new homes with the basic necessities. From now until December 16, all seven Connex branches will collect items to build housewarming kits, as well as monetary donations, to aid families in their transition out of homelessness and into their own homes.
The residents of Columbus House, which include families with children, veterans and seniors, are often moving into their new home without the basics, such as bedding, dishes and towels. Transitioning out of homelessness can be a difficult process, and many of these residents do not have the financial flexibility to purchase these essentials.
Connex Credit Union will have baskets in each branch’s lobby to collect new items for the housewarming kits. Each branch will be collecting specific supplies, and donations will be accepted from members and non-members:

“We are proud to work with Columbus House to help bring joy to these families during the holiday season,” said Louise Nestor, director of marketing, Connex Credit Union. “We encourage all of our members and the community to stop by and bring an item of need to one of our branches. Every little bit helps and adds up to make a big difference.”
