The Age of Aquarius is one of 12 successive 2150-year periods, each of which corresponds with one of the 12 signs of the zodiac. This succession of ages is based on a phenomenon known as the precession of equinoxes. Astrologers feel each of these periods is dominated by particular traits of that specific zodiac sign. The change of ages correlates with 2012, and the Mayan calendar and prophecies speaking of a climactic time of change here on earth... which is why many people feel this is the beginning of the end.
