Most people have heard about Labyrinths, and maybe even had the opportunity to walk one in person, but what is the theory behind these interesting creations? Labyrinths date back to Greek mythology where one was constructed to contain the Minotaur, then in the Renaissance era they became popular in gardens, courtyards, and even churches. Over time these features became symbols of a path to enlightenment and it has become a custom to walk the labyrinth as a way of centering yourself and meditating.
